How to Duplicate a Record

Duplicating a record is a convenient way to quickly create a new record using the same rescuer and intake information as an existing record. This function is usually used when a finder returns later with an additional sibling they have located. Please note that only the rescuer and intake fields will be duplicated to the new record, not the medical information.

Step 1. Screen Shot 2016-02-13 at 3.49.21 PM

Find the record you would like to duplicate.

Step 2.

Go to the Share tab and choose the Duplicate Record option.

Step 3.

You can now edit any information within the duplicate record that pertains to the new patient.  The current date and time will be automatically updated.

Step 4.

Click the Duplicate this Record option to create the
new record, which will be automatically assigned the next available patient number.

Note: It is impossible to change the record number. The original and duplicated record  will be linked through the rescuer’s information, but we can not make the new record number sequential with the original.
